Bangkok Fashion Outlet looks very much like all the other malls in the city, but at this one quality products have huge – unbelievable, almost – discounts of up to 90%. The outlet is part of the Central Group, one of the biggest retailers in Thailand, who have over 20 shopping malls and department stores around the country. Jim Thompson Factory Outlet

Jim Thompson Factory Outlet

Jim Thompson is famous for reviving the silk industry for the international market but if you have ever been to the small shop near his house and museum you may have been disappointed by the cost of the goods there. Thankfully the Jim Thomspon Factory Outlet is on hand so you can take home plenty of beautiful silk goods. There are five floors at the factory, with three dedicated to silk and cotton fabrics by the metre, one floor dedicated to home furnishings like cushions, table runners and curtains. The most popular floor is accessories, where you can pick up silk toys for children, smart ties, clothing and picture frames. Getting there is easy. You need to take the BTS to Bang Chak Station and then walk out exit 5 down Sukhumvit Soi 93; the Jim Thompson Factory Outlet is around five minutes’ walk on the left hand side of the street.

  • Opening Hours: Daily from 09:00 – 18:00

GRI at Emporium

GRI at Emporium

I was as surprised as most people when GRI opened in the luxury Emporium Shopping Mall near Phrom Pong BTS Station. Well-known for housing high fashion brands like Chanel and Dior, it seemed strange that you could bag a bargain here. But if the red 80% discount signs that decorate these shop windows aren’t enough to confirm the fabulous deals, take a peek at the rails, because there are some great finds to be had. GRI can be found on the 1st floor of Emporium, and the brands you will find on super sale here include Nine West, Karen Millen, Steve Madden and Episode. The collections here are normally only a season old, and there’s a good selection of sizes, meaning if you set your heart on the glitter pumps from Nine West you’re in luck.

  • Opening Hours: 9.00-21.00
  • Location: Sukhumvit Soi 24/26
  • BTS: Phrom Phong

Levi’s Factory Outlet

Levi’s Factory Outlet

Also near Bang Chak Skytrain Station but in the opposite direction is the Levi’s Factory Outlet. Located in a rather sombre building that looks a little worse for wear on the outside, the greeting in the shop isn’t much better. But if you are looking for some heavily discounted jeans, then there are plenty available here, with discounts of up to 60%. The small shop is filled with goods and there is a good range of sizes and colours – everything from stonewashed boyfriend jeans for girls to smart black straight cut jeans for gents. Although piles of jeans are the main draw here, there is also a good selection of shirts, tees, and even jackets if you want to attempt the double denim look. To get there use Exit 3 from Bang Chak Sky Train Station and walk along Sukhumvit for five minutes until you spot the red Levi’s Factory Outlet sign.

  • Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday 08:00 – 21:00
  • BTS: Bang Chak
  • Address: Pricha Building, 2533 Sukhumvit Road, Just past Sukhumvit soi 99

Amarin Plaza

This shopping mall near Chit Lom Skytrain Station is not really on the tourist trail when exploring the Siam area, which is a shame as there are some pretty fabulous bargains to be had here. On the ground floor you will normally find a mega sale. In the past, brands that have displayed their heavily discounted goods here include Quicksilver, Guess and Adidas. They also host discount weeks for homeware, perfumes, watches and sunglasses. As well as the discount rails on the ground floor, you can also grab a bargain at some of the end of the line outlet shops that you will find around the mall. Mid-range Thai fashion brand Jaspal has a discount shop here as does Guy Laroche and Crocodile. It’s an air-conditioned discount heaven! Read More...
